Cllr Les Hamilton
Cllr Les Hamilton

Tomorrow, May 6th, Labour’s Les Hamilton will have served as a local Councillor for 50 years!

Les has the distinction of serving under Portslade Urban District Council, Hove Borough Council and Brighton and Hove City Council, over his long civic life.

He was part of the first ever Labour Administration on Hove Council in the 1990s and later as a senior member of several Labour Councils, including as Deputy Leader. He has also served as Mayor on more than one occasion.

Les is very proud and keen to promote Portslade, where he has lived for over 70 years, and where he serves as a Councillor for the ward of South Portslade.

Les has been consistent in speaking up for ordinary people and for his residents in Portslade and across the City. He continues to make a considerable contribution to the Council, including sitting on the Children, Young People & Skills Committee and various education committees where he brings his years of previous experience as a senior teacher.

The experience and knowledge Les holds is of great benefit to the Labour Group, the Council, and the City he has served for half a century.

A big thank you Les, and congratulations!
