Labour Respond To Latest Unemployment Figures

Commenting on news that unemployment in Brighton and Hove is at its highest levels since 1997, Leader of the Labour and Co-operative Group Cllr Warren Morgan said:

"These Government figures are very worrying, and underline the problems with the low-wage economy the Conservatives are creating.

"With more people out of work locally, growing numbers of workers in short-term or part-time jobs and many employees seeing wages rising below inflation or not at all, not to mention the growth of insecure employment via zero hours contracts, it's no wonder many residents are finding it difficult to make ends meet this Christmas."
