Following concerns from local business owners in Madeira Terraces, the Deputy Leader of the Labour and Co-operative Group, Councillor Gill Mitchell, has called for an urgent meeting with senior council officers to address the business owners’ concerns.
Councillor Mitchell said:
I have been approached by a number of business owners who have expressed their concerns over the effects of the closure of Madeira Terraces and the closure of parking spaces. I have called for an urgent meeting with senior council officers to discuss any ways in which we can minimise the impact of the closure on local businesses. I will be looking at a wide range of options, including temporarily lowering parking fees.
