The next in our highly popular series of City Labour Party Fundraising Dinners will be on Wednesday, 28 January, 2015 at 6.30 pm for 7pm at the Gallery Restaurant of the City College, Brighton.
Former Brighton and Hove Albion boss Martin Perry will be guest speaker. Martin, who is standing as council candidate in Hangleton and Knoll, was Chief Executive of Brighton’s football club until two years ago. He remains an executive director of the club.
Martin helped mastermind the development of the Falmer ground into a state-of-the-art football stadium, assisted by some behind the scenes help from Lord [Steve] Bassam, Opposition Chief Whip in the Lords.
Voted "Outstanding Brightonian" in the Brighton and Hove Business Awards in 2013 – will give an insight into the struggle to move to Falmer, which quadrupled the size of the business almost overnight. He will point to future plans to grow the club and hopefully move into the Premier League – and will give some views on Labour’s policy proposals on the governance of League Football Clubs.
The three course dinner with coffee is prepared and served by the catering students from City College as part of their ‘hands on’ training.
