Candidate selected for East Brighton

13453129_10157063627795301_179222719_o.jpgOn the weekend Lloyd Russell-Moyle was selected by East Brighton Branch Labour Party to be the candidate for the East Brighton by-election which is expected to be held later in July.

Lloyd, who lives in the ward said "I am delighted to have been selected in the ward I live. East Brighton is one of the most diverse wards in the city and it would be a privilege to be elected to represent residents"

Lloyd is a former Youth Worker and UN Consultant on youth participation in poverty. He stood saying that he has a passion for Education, Transport, cooperative solutions and housing.

Gill Mitchel, Lloyd Russell-Moyle and Warren MorganCouncil leader and East Brighton Ward councillor Warren Morgan said: “I’m delighted that local resident and experienced campaigner Lloyd Russell-Moyle has been chosen by East Brighton Labour members to contest the by-election.

“I’ve worked with him closely over the past year while he has chaired the city party and he brings a wealth of experience that will be invaluable on the city council if he’s successful in the forthcoming poll.”

If elected Lloyd will join the two other Labour-Cooperative Councillors for East Brighton Warren Morgan (pictured right) and Gill Mitchel (pictured left).

Lloyd is currently the chair of Brighton Hove and District Labour Party and will stand down from this post at the Party's AGM to be held in July.

No, elections are still on, we will do a re-run of the AGM but that’s it the party will operate as normal.

So does the decision, to overturn everything decided at the July meeting, mean that Lloyd will not be permitted to stand down ?
